Topics for Track Proposals
We welcome track proposals on both established and emerging topics that attract strong interest within IS research.
Please click HERE to submit your track proposal no later than February 12, 2026.

Thematic categories
The proposed track must be referred to one of the following thematic categories. Selecting one primary and one secondary category is mandatory for every track proposal. The sub-topics listed below each macro-topic are illustrative examples (non-exhaustive) intended to help proponents identify the most suitable macro-topics.
- Systems, infrastructures, and processes: Business process management; enterprise systems; inter-organisational systems; accounting information systems; healthcare information systems; digital ecosystems; ubiquitous and mobile information systems; cybersecurity.
- Transformation, innovation, and change: Digital transformation; digital entrepreneurship; IS innovation; project management and IS development; e-business and competitive strategy.
- Data, analytics, and decisions: Business intelligence and decision support; AI and emerging technologies; economics and the value of IS.
- People, management, and collaboration: Algorithmic management; e-HRM; social media; technology-enhanced learning; human-AI collaboration; and remote/hybrid work.
- Governance, policy, and structure: IS governance and sourcing; security and privacy of information and IS; eGovernment; regulation and compliance.
- Ethics, responsibility, and sustainability: Sustainability; ethics and responsible IS/AI; societal impacts of digital technologies; inclusion and accessibility.
- Design, development, and adoption: IS artifacts and IS artifact design; ; system development and implementation.
These categories indicate the broad topics addressed by the track and help programme chairs build a conference programme that is balanced and inclusive. If proposed tracks show overlap or strong similarity, programme chairs may ask proponents to revise their track description (for a minor overlap) or to merge multiple proposals into a single track (for a substantial overlap).
ITAIS 2026 will include a dedicated track for literature reviews (e.g., systematic reviews, scoping reviews, bibliometric reviews, meta-analyses, structured theory reviews). This track will be set-up by programme chairs. Proposals for new tracks should therefore not consider literature reviews among the expected contributions.
Track co-chair requirements
Each track must have 2 to 4 co-chairs:
- at least one international and one Italian co-chair
- no more than two Italian co-chairs
- The first listed co-chair is the primary contact for the track
Track Chair Responsibilities
We invite fellow researchers to propose tracks in their field of interest. Track chairs are expected to:
- Collaborate with the programme chairs on all matters concerning ITAIS 2026, meeting all deadlines
- Promote the track and help secure an adequate number of submissions (minimum seven contributions per track)
- Manage peer review for submitted papers; each paper must receive at least two high-quality reviews
- Recommend papers for inclusion in the conference programme; nominate candidates for the Best Paper and Best Reviewer awards
- Have at least one co-chair to attend ITAIS 2026 and serve as session chair for the track
