The itAIS Special Interest Group on E-Services and Innovation in Public Sector (ESIPubS) aims to promote the development and the exchange of knowledge about the organization and the impact of e-services, defined as the provision of services via electronic networks, especially from publicorganizations.
The study of e-services overlaps several disciplines including computer science and engineering which are concerned with the development and provision of these services. It also extends to economics and organization science with regard to impact, service quality and value for citizens. Such converging (or diverging) elements are relevant, for example, when considering the pros and cons of addressing e-government through public-private partnership and complex networks. Defining an integrated framework for the study of e-services in both the public and the private sectors underscores the need for new business models, as well as increases the value of e-services integration via the enhanced and open collaboration between research centers, service providers and citizens. The goal of the SIG is also to contribute to the debate on models and services in building and validating theories, models and methods through the organization of workshops, seminars and case studies presentation.
